In this report ENTSOG and ENTSO-E propose the scenario storylines for TYNDP 2022. This publication is an important foundation for further scenario building and quantification , which spans until the end of this year. This is further illustrated in the Figure 16.
Figure 16: Scenario building process
Next steps in the scenario building process are the following:
- In Spring 2021 ENTSOG and ENTSO-E will organise a workshop to present the approach about energy import potentials to all stakeholders. Energy suppliers are invited to present their view to cover the various aspects of this topic.
- Now that the final storylines have been established, ENTSOG and ENTSO-E will perform the quantification and modelling needed to build the TYNDP 2022 scenarios. With this modelling the (qualitative) storylines will be translated into fully quantified scenarios. A draft scenario report including datasets is expected to be published mid-2021, as part of the next major public consultation phase.
- ENTSOG and ENTSO-E will use all consultation feedback to refine and establish the final quantified scenarios to be used in TYNDP 2022. The final scenario report is expected to be published in early 2022. The final scenarios feed into the TYNDP 2022 development process. The scenario datasets are used within the system needs assessment process and the cost-benefit analysis (CBA) for the PCI selection.
